Lot Description
An early Victorian silver and gold, diamond and rock crystal mourning ring. Of oval outline, the old-cut diamond, atop an oval rock crystal and interwoven hair panel, with similarly-cut diamond surround, to the later grooved band. Estimated total diamond weight 1.35cts, principal diamond estimated I-J colour, SI clarity. Ring size O. Weight 3.9gms.

<li>With evidence of alteration to the reverse.
<li>Diamonds bright.
<li>Individual size and setting of smaller diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Rock crystal in fair condition, with surface abrasion and minor chips to the edge.
<li>Reverse with engraved personal inscription, reads 'J. H. Wilson, died Augt. 26th 1836, age 2', partially deficient.
