Lot Description
An early 20th century platinum sapphire and diamond ring. The graduated cushion-shape sapphire three-stone line, with old-cut diamond duo spacers, to the openwork band. Estimated dimensions of principal sapphire 6 by 5 by 4mms. Estimated total diamond weight 0.30ct. Ring size N. Weight 3.1gms.

Condition Report
<li>Overall condition good to fair. Some surface scratches/ wear and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Metal tests as platinum.
<li>Band shows evidence of repair/ resizing.
<li>Diamonds well matched.
<li>Diamonds bright.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diamonds with some small light and dark inclusions. One with small cavity to one side of the crown. One appears to have a small chip beneath one claw.
<li>Sapphires are a well matched medium slightly violetish blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Sapphires in good to fair condition with some light abrasions to facets and facet edges.<p>
<li>Width (at widest) 0.7cm.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
