Lot Description
A mid 20th century 18ct gold and platinum, diamond and gem-set butterfly brooch. The brilliant-cut diamond body and eyes, with angular antennae, to the scattered similarly-cut diamond, oval coral disc and vari-shape onyx wings highlighted by a circular turquoise cabochon border. Estimated total diamond weight 1.25cts. French assay marks. Length 7.7cms. Weight 25gms.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Should be a double pin brooch fitting, one of the pins is deficient.
<li>Stamped Depose, SSM to the pin hinge.
<li>Diamonds bright and well matched.
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Very few, minor inclusions visible under 10x.
<li>Coral untested for natural colour origin.
<li>Coral is a slightly mottled pinky orange hue. Few scratches.
<li>Turquoise are a medium light blue through medium deep green. Slight matrix visible to some. Few surface indents.
