Lot Description
LEMANIA - a military issue single button chronograph wrist watch. Stainless steel case, stamped with British Board Arrow. Numbered H.S 9 2663. Unsigned manual wind calibre 15 CHT. Silvered 'sterile' dial with Arabic numeral hour markers, subsidiary recorder dials to three and nine. Fitted to an unsigned black and grey nylon 'NATO' style strap with nickel plated pin buckle. 38mm.
This watch was issued to Acting Sub-Lieutenant Charlie Bowley, who was a member of the Goldfish Club after crash landing. He went over the side of HMS Indomitable but was rescued by a following destroyer.

<li>Movement is currently functioning. The chronograph counts one minute, but has not been tested further due to time constraints.
<li>Movement has scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with general wear visible when viewed under a 4x loupe.
<li>Dial appears to be in a poor condition with noticeable marks, scratches, tarnishing, some lifting of the laminate.
<li>Hands show corrosion and the luminous material is missing.
<li>Glass has scratches and marks.
<li>Case shows noticeable scratches, marks and dints.
<li>Crown has scratches and marks.
<li>Strap appears to be in good condition with minor marks and creasing.
<li>Buckle shows marks and scratches when viewed under a 4x loupe.<p>
