A mid to late 19th century gold and shell cameo brooch, carved to depict the Virgin Mary, Jesus and Saint John.

<li>Shell with few fine cracks above the Virgin Marys head.
<li>Mount with few scratches to reverse.
<li>Electronically tests as approximately 22ct gold, believed to be registering the gilt finish.
