A pair of 1940s platinum sapphire and vari-cut diamond earrings.
Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.75cts, H-tinted colour, SI1-P1 clarity.

<li>Overall condition good. Some surface scratches and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
<li>Possible alterations.
<li>Diamonds generally H-J colour with brownish inclusions affecting the appearance of colour in the remaining diamonds.
<li>Rose-cut diamonds not assessed for weight, colour or clarity.
<li>Sapphires are a well matched deep blue hue. Varied inclusions.
<li>Electronically tests as platinum, mounts test as approximately 9ct gold.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
