<li>Gems are in closed back settings, presumably foil back.

<li>Aquamarines appear a well matched medium deep slightly steely slightly greenish blue hue.

<li>Garnet appear a reddish orange and purplish red hue.

<li>Estimated dimensions of the brooch 2.5 by 2.1cms.

<li>Set electronically test as mostly 21ct gold, in few areas test as 15ct gold, the gilt finish may be interfering with the result.

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
