Lot Description

A late 19th century silver and 18ct gold, rose-cut diamond and pearl lyre and laurel branch brooch.

French assay marks. Length 5.3cms. 7gms.
With Mappin & Webb case.

<li>Overall condition good. General light to moderate marks and wear to the metal in keeping with age. Some discolouration to the reverse.

<li>Rose-cut diamonds appear fairly bright and lively, with some typical small nicks and cavities.

<li>Pearls untested for natural origin or natural colour origin.

<li>Pearls are a slightly purplish grey hue, with some rose and greenish overtones. Smooth, slightly off-round form, with good lustre.

<li>Pearls showing some moderate nacre damage, with some fine fractures across the surface of the nacre.

<li>French assay marks.
