Lot Description

A 1930s 18ct gold sapphire, ruby, rose-cut diamond and cultured pearl butterfly brooch, by René Boivin.

With documentation from Françoise Cailles.

<li>Overall condition fair. Two prongs of the clasp section have broken off. Some soft solder to the back. Suspension loops fitted to the end of each wing on the reverse, appear to have been later added. General light to moderate marks and wear to the metal.

<li>Lot comes with documentation from Françoise Cailles regarding the authenticity. Please see documentation for further information.

<li>Diamonds appear well matched and fairly bright and lively. Some with small nicks.

<li>Sapphires are a medium slightly violet blue hue, well saturated, with good clarity. Rubies are a medium slightly pinkish red hue, well saturated, with good clarity.

<li>Stones in good condition with few minor abrasions. Cultured pearl with some minor abrasions and some glue residue to the setting<p>
