A mid 20th century platinum and gold, star ruby and diamond double clip brooch.
Estimated total ruby weight 28cts.
Estimated total diamond weight 3.30cts, H-J colour, predominantly VS-SI clarity.

<li>Overall condition good to fair. General light to moderate marks and wear in keeping with age. Clips to not seem to fasten securely to the brooch fitting together; may require attention.
<li> Diamonds bright. Diamonds estimated predominantly VS-SI clarity, two appear to have damage to the pavilion and are duller.<p>
<li>Rubies are opaque and are a fairly purplish red hue, with natural inclusions and zoning visible, some inclusions surface reaching, with associated small nicks and cavities. Rubies display a moderate six-rayed asterism effect under focused bright light.<p>
<li>Rubies in good condition with some light abrasions.<p>
<li>Ruby calculated weights: 12.39cts, based on estimated dimensions of 12.5 by 11.2 by 8.2mms and 15.66cts, based on estimated dimensions of 12.5 by 11.6 by 10mms.
<li>Width 2.2cms.
<li>Front of the clips tests as platinum. Hinged clip fittings and the brooch fitting test as approximately 18ct gold.
