Lot Description

An early Victorian 18ct gold turquoise heart locket bracelet, believed to have been presented by Queen Victoria.

Engraved to the clasp 'from Victoria R, July 16th 1850.'
Engraved above each of the lockets 'Victoria, Alice, Alfred, Helena, Louise'.
Length 16.5cms. 20.5gms.

<li>The bracelet has been cut down at some stage, re-joined at the clasp tongue.
<li>Only the locket relating to Helena retains its glass and hair inset.
<li>Turquoise are bright medium blue through slightly greenish blue and deep green hues.
<li>Slight matrix visible.
<li>The date 16th July 1850 relates to the funeral of Prince Adolphus Frederick, Duke of Cambridge, who was the paternal uncle of Queen Victoria.
