A late Georgian 18ct gold garnet, split pearl and enamel mourning ring.
Engraved 'Marianna Head, died 16 Feb 1832 Aged 89'.
Further engraved with Philippians 1:21 'to live is Christ & to die is gain'.
Hallmarks for London, partially indistinct. Ring size L. 4gms.

<li>Band re-sized, obliterating the date letter.
<li>Losses to the enamel.
<li>Garnet is in a closed back setting and appears a fairly bright, purplish red hue.
<li>Split pearls well matched with minor wear and slight discolouration.
<li>Engraving around enamel appears crisp.
<li>Length of ring head 1.5cms.
