A late 19th century gold, enamel portrait and split pearl brooch, with matching earrings.

Length of brooch 5.8cms. Length of earrings 5.3cms. 25.2gms.
With associated case.

<li>Small rough spots to the reverse, possible alterations.
<li>Three split pearls deficient.
<li>Black enamel with surface frits and nicks.
<li>Portrait enamels with minor surface abrasions.
<li>Case shows significant wear/damages.
<li>Earrings with hook fittings for pierced ears.
<li>Electronically testing as approximately 17-18ct gold.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
