An early 20th century 18ct gold graduated opal five-stone ring, with single and rose-cut diamond spacers.

Estimated total opal weight 1.55cts.

<li>Overall condition fair to good.

<li>Diamonds appear well matched. One missing.

<li>Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.<p>
<li>Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Calculated total opal weight based on estimated dimensions of 4.5 by 3.8 by 1.9mms, 5.5 by 5.1 by 2.2mms, 6.3 by 5.7 by 2.7mms, 5.4 by 5.1 by 2.2mms and 4.3 by 3.6 by 1.8mms.<p>

<li>The opals of white body colour, with fair to poor play of colour predominently in the pink to orange spectrum.<p>

<li>Width of ring head 0.6cms.

<li>Band and mount electronically test as 18ct gold.  

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
