A late 18th century silver and gold pearl, foil back ruby girandole pendant.
Length 6.3cms. 11.7gms.
Pearls untested for natural origin.

<li>Possibly adapted from a larger piece.
<li>Soft solder visible to reverse of the surmount.
<li>Glue visible to two pearl mounts.
<li>Rubies are foil back. Varied deterioration to the foil backing.
<li>Some rubies may be pink sapphires.
<li>Some rubies with minor to significant chips/abrasions.
<li>Pearls untested for natural origin.
<li>Pearls appear fairly well matched with a grey and yellow tones, fair to good lustre. Varied overtones.
<li>Mounts electronically test as silver. The surmount electronically tests as approximately 6ct gold.<p>
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
