A Georgian silver foil back garnet floral spray brooch. Length 8.8cms. 24.3gms.  

<li>Adapted from a larger item of jewellery. The pin a later replacement.

<li>Areas of soft solder and evidence of alterations visible to verso. Split to metal near hinge. Glue residue visible in various locations.

<li>Garnets generally in good condition. Some with small nicks and chips. Larger stone near the tip is cracked.<p>

<li>Mount electronically tests as silver. The pin electronically tests as iron.<p>

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
