A late 19th century 18ct gold, silver and irogane locket, depicting frogs fighting and a ship before Mount Fuji, in shakudo, shibuichi and further metals.

<li>Overall condition good.
<li>Mixed metal panels appear to be backed in silver to the inside of the locket, with gold surround and surmount.
<li>Slight wear to the gilt finish.
<li>Mixed metal panels with slight surface wear and some small losses to the inlays: the ship has a slight loss to the rigging, few small beads deficient to the waves and a tree branch deficient. To the frogs side four of the small particles that have gone flying are deficient.
<li>Glass is deficient to the inside of the locket.
<li>Mount electronically tests as approximately 18ct gold, gilt finish may be interfeering with the result.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
