Lot Description

Two late 19th century gold ruby, sapphire, split pearl and rose-cut diamond double heart rings.

One stamped 15ct.
Ring sizes L1/2 and M. 4.4gms.

<li>General light marks and wear to metal. Baroque pearl ring with file marks to inside of band. 
<li>Both bands slightly out of shape, possibly from resizing.

<li>Diamonds vary in brightness.

<li>Individual size and cut of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>

<li>Split pearls vary, one appears slightly discoloured, slight wear to the nacre layers.

<li>Sapphire is a bright, deep medium blue hue, some colour zoning.

<li>Ruby is a deep moderately purplish red hue.

<li>One ring stamped 15ct. Remaining ring electronically tests as approximately 17-18ct gold.

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
