Lot Description

A late Georgian gold, multi-gem 'regard' acrostic pansy heart locket, with turquoise accent grape and vine ground.

Length 3.5cms. 6.1gms.

<li>Wear in keeping with age.

<li>Small dents to the reverse.

<li>Glue visible to one ruby mount.

<li>Some mounts deficient claws/wear to claws.

<li>Varied discolouration.

<li>Central gem is a rock crystal, not a diamond. Rock crystal shows abrasion.

<li>Rubies are a bright, deep medium pinkish red hue.

<li>Turquoise show varied discolouration.

<li>Interior with glass to one side.

<li>Jeweller-type scratch marks to both sides of interior.

<li>Estimated dimensions of heart 1.9 by 2.1cms.

<li>Electronically tests as approximately 20ct gold.

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
