A 1940s palladium and gold ruby and pavé-set diamond double clip brooch.
Estimated total diamond weight 4cts, G-I colour, VS2-SI1 clarity.

<li>General light to moderate marks and wear to the metal.
<li>Rubies are a medium pinkish red hue, well saturated, with good clarity and some small typical inclusions.<p>
<li>Rubies generally with minor abrasions, some with small nicks.<p>
<li>Diamonds appear bright. Some appear slightly below I colour or SI clarity.
<li>Piece predominantly electronically tests as approximately 85% palladium, the brooch mount testing as approximately 9ct gold.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
