A late Georgian gold foil back amethyst and split pearl floral necklace.
Length of drop 3.2cms. Length of necklace 39.8cms. 50.5gms.

Condition Report
<li>General light marks, discolouration and wear. Few small dents to reverse of some mounts.
<li>Drop is detachable.
<li>Repairs/alterations, larger amethyst closest to drop on each side with hole to mount for clasp tongue.
<li>Two sections of chain closest to clasp on both sides with polished finish, remaining textured.
<li>Foils show some deterioration.
<li>Amethysts appear to be a fairly well matched bright slightly pinkish purple hue.
<li>Amethysts with minor abrasions.
<li>Split pearls are white in body colour, with a rosy overtone.
<li>Split pearls with banding and splits to nacre.
<li>Electronically testing as at least 19ct gold, suspected interference from gilt finish.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
