A mid to late 19th century gold natural pearl brooch, designed as a bunch of grapes.
Verbal from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory, stating samples: freshwater, natural.
Pearls approximate length 10.3 to 4.7mms.

<li>Surface scratches and minor marks. Varied discolouration. General dirt.

<li>Pearls appear varied in shape, size and lustre, with bluish white throguh cream hues. Varied overtones.
<li>Small nicks and some glue at drill holes.
<li>Electronically tests as high carat gold, presumed interference from gilt finish.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
