Lot Description

A late Victorian gold citrine stickpin, with engraved shamrock mount.

Citrine calculated weight 15.70cts, based on estimated dimensions of 19.5 by 15.5 by 9.3mms.
Length of stickpin head 2.4cms. 6gms.

<li>Scratches and small marks.
<li>Small rough protrustions behind the top shamrock, possibly a component deficient.
<li>Citrine is slightly loose in the mount.
<li>Citrine is a deep medium slightly brownish orange. Central window effect. Small surface reaching inclusions toward the edge of the table facet.
<li>Mount electronically tests as approximately 18ct gold, the pin as 9ct gold.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
