<li>Garnets appear a fairly well matched moderately purplish red.
<li>Hook fittings for pierced ears.

<li>Electronically test as approximately 20-21ct gold, presumed interference from gilt finish.

<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
