An emerald cabochon, circular and rose-cut diamond plique-a-jour enamel brooch, with pearl and ruby highlights, depicting bullrushes and herons at a waterside.

Pear-shape emerald calculated weight 9.03cts, based on estimated dimensions of 18.5 by 11.1 by 6.6mms.
Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.50cts, H-I colour, SI1-P1 clarity.
French restrike marks. Length 10.8cms. 57.9gms.
With fitted case.
Pearls untested for natural origin.

<li>Scratches, small marks and general, varied discolouration.
<li>Small file mark to the reverse of one of the Heron heads.

<li>Diamonds appear fairly bright and well matched.
<li>Rose-cut diamonds size and setting prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diameter of largest rose-cut diamond 6.8mms.
<li>Five of the smaller rose-cut diamonds chipped.
<li>Pearls untested for natural origin.
<li>Pearls are bouton and semi-baroque, silvery white through cream hues. Varied overtones and lustre.
<li>Length of pearl drop 15.5mms.
<li>Emeralds appear a slightly bluish green. Smaller, circular cabochons appear more saturated than the pear-shape cabochon.
<li>French re-strike marks to clasp and pin.
<li>White metal mounts electronically test as silver.
<li>Yellow metal variously tests between 9 and 18ct gold, variance possibly due to enamel and material availability.
<li>Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
