A mid 20th century 18ct gold old-cut diamond squirrel brooch, holding a rose-cut diamond nut, by René Boivin.

Estimated total old-cut diamond weight 1.10cts, G-H colour, VS clarity.
French assay marks. Boivin maker's mark.
Length 6cms. 35.4gms.

<li>Surface scratches and minor marks.
<li>One of the pin is significantly bent to draw in behind the other pins clasp.
<li>Bent pin has partial maker's mark, worn.
<li>Further maker's mark to the body of the brooch.
<li>Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
<li>Size and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.<p>
<li>Diamonds are predominantly old and rose-cuts, two appear circular-cut, near round brilliant, no obvious marks to the mounts, believed original.
<li>One minor nick to one of the larger rose-cut diamonds.
<li>Gem to the eye is sunken, glue to the surfaces, may benefit from clean and re-set.
