Lot Description
A late Victorian silver and gold, pearl and old-cut diamond pendant, with near-period 18ct gold chain.
May be worn as a brooch.
Estimated total diamond weight 2.40cts, G-J colour, VS2-P2 clarity.
Length of pendant 4.8cms. Length of chain 44cms. 16gms.
With fitted later presentation case.
Pearl untested for natural origin.

Surface scratches and small marks. General significant discolouration/tarnish.
Surmount previously detachable, has been soldered shut.
Replacement brooch fittings.
Diamonds appear mostly bright and moderately well matched.
Three diamonds with small chips.
Pearl untested for natural origin.
Pearl appears shaped to the reverse.
Pearl appears a silvery white with good lustre.
Pearl with a fine crack at approximately the 7 o clock position in the front facing image.
Chain stamped 18ct to panel near clasp.
Case marked in gilt to the front: Presented By THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL November 1939.
The silk named for F.C. Richards, Temple Row, Birmingham.
