A late 19th century 14ct gold lion mask stickpin, with old-cut diamond eyes, the mouth holding a seed pearl.
Stamped 14, maker's mark indistinct.
Length of stickpin head 1.5cms. 2.8gms.

Surface scratches and minor marks. General dirt and discolouration. Slight wear to the gilt finish.
Pin has small dents.
Small file mark to one of the ears.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.

Seed pearl untested for natural origin.
Seed pearl appears silvery white with green and rose overtones. Good lustre. Semi-baroque, possibly shaped to the mount.
