A mid to late 19th century gold coral brooch, with drop fringe.
Length 6.4cms. 17.7gms.
With fitted case by Luigi Casalta, Naples.
Coral untested for natural colour origin.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks. Varied discolouration.
Case with space for earrings to the sides, earrings not with the lot.
Case shows damages, one side of the base is loose, significant losses to the cover material on the base.
Coral untested for natural colour origin.
Coral appear well matched with a mottled slightly orangey pink hue. Varied dark polyp holes visible.
Electronically tests as approximately 21ct gold, presumed interference from gilt finish.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
