A late Victorian gold Sri Lankan star ruby and split pearl pendant.
May be worn as a brooch.
Verbal from GCS, stating Sri Lanka, no heat.
Ruby calculated weight 15cts, based on estimated dimensions of 14 by 13.2 by 7.5mms.
Length 3.5cms. 10.9gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks. Slight wear to the gilt finish.
Later base metal safety chain.
Surmount is detachable, on hinged small surmount loop.
Brooch fittings unscrew. Length as a brooch 2.4cms.
Split pearls appear well matched. General slight abrasion, minor cracks and general dirt.
Ruby cabochon appears a transluscent reddish purple.
Asterism in focused light appears strong, with fine, slightly wavering lines, slightly off-centre. Weak asterism in standard lighting.
