An early 19th century gold foil back topaz brooch. Length 2.3cms. 5.5gms.

Surface scratches and minor marks. General discolouration.
Topaz appears a reddish orange. Minor deterioration to the foil backing.
Minor nicks and slight abrasion to facet edges.
Visible estimated dimensions of topaz 21.1 by 12mms. Unable to ascertain depth due to setting.
Electronically tests as approximately 12ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
