An early 20th century gold opal and split pearl bar brooch.
Opal calculated weight 4.96cts, based on estimated dimensions of 19.8 by 9.2 by 4.7mms.
Length 4.5cms. 4.1gms.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Opal displays a whitish body colour with areas of strong yellow. Dark matrix patch to the reverse.
Green and blue play of colour.
Split pearls appear well matched.
Electronically tests as approximately 16ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
