An early to mid 19th century 15ct gold chalcedony fob seal, carved for a Lady married into the Law family.
Length 3.3cms.
8.8gms.
The LAW family whose main family line includes the Baron and later Earl of Ellenborough of Canon Hill, Maidenhead has a number of branches, an early one of which exists in Scotland where the name commonly used is LAW(S).
The maternal arms are likely that of Windsor or Duckett.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Area of localised discolouration, presumed acid to the surmount loop.
Electronically tests to surmount as approximately 16ct gold.
