Lot Description

A Russian 19th century silver gilt, rose-cut diamond and ruby item of regalia, relating to the Sablukov family.

With report 318544/20067000, dated 28th February 2024, from AnchorCert, stating Myanmar (Burma), no evidence of treatment, estimated weight 1.88cts.
Length 12cms. 281.5gms.

Likely to be related to Alexander SABLUKOV Александр Александрович Саблуков (1783-1857) Lieutenant General, engineer and inventor. He was the son of Aleksandr SABLUKOV (1746-1828) and Ekaterina VOLKOVA (died 1820) and was credited with the invention of the centrifugal fan.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
General discolouration and slight wear to the gilt finish. Slight verdigris.
File mark to the back of the top of the eagle tail feathers.
Eagle and crown sections are currently loose, screw threads may require attention.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Cut, size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate weight, colour and clarity assessment.

Majority of rubies are in closed, presumed foil back settings and appear a light medium through bright, deep medium slightly pinkish, slightly purplish reds.
Rubies to crown show moderate abrasion, one ruby to crown with small chips/nicks at the girdle.
