Lot Description
A late 19th century gold seed and split pearl winged necklace, suspending a detachable gold enamel heart pendant.
Length of pendant 4.1cms. Length of necklace 37cms. 17.2gms.

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Later safety chain.
Length of split pearl components to necklace 6.9gms.
Heart pendant is near period to the necklace.
Enamel shows chip to the lower section and one deep scratch in the direction of her gaze.
Enamel panel is very slightly loose in the mount.
Seed pearl untested for natural origin.
Seed and split pearls appear fairly well matched, slight discolourations/wear.
Electronically tests to chain and clasp as approxiamtely 21ct gold and to reverse of a wing as approximately 17ct gold, possible interference from gilt finish.
Electronically tests to heart pendant mount as approximately 9ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
