Lot Description
An early 20th century gold sapphire and old-cut diamond hinged bangle, with split pearl line sides.
Sapphire calculated weight 0.46ct, based on estimated dimensions of 5 by 4.1 by 2.4mms.
Estimated total diamond weight 0.50ct, I-J colour, SI1-P1 clarity.
Inner diameter 5.9cms. 10gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks.
Bangle slightly off oval.
Repairs visible at hinge and clasp, discolouration and slight pitting.
Varied wear to the gilt finish.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Sapphire appears a bright, deep blue.
Split pearls appear fairly well matched. Slight wear to some nacre.
Width 0.5cm.
Electronically tests to back half of bangle where gilt appears lesser as approximately 18ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
