A 19th century emerald, split pearl and paste cluster engraved heart padlock locket clasp.
Length 4.5cms. 12.2gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks.
Varied wear to the gilt finish, dark discolouration.
Possible stamped mark to hinged fitting, indistinct.
Gems are in closed mounts. Few claws deficient.
Emeralds appear a well matched light medium slightly bluish green.
Split pearls appear fairly well matched, moderate wear.
Opalescent glass shows moderate abrasion.
Glass reverse shows abrasion to the bevelled edge, general slight discolouration/water damage to interior.
Electronically tests as approximately 8-9ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
