A 19th century gold amethyst and old-cut diamond brooch.
Amethyst calculated weight 12.44cts, based on estimated dimensions of 20.1 by 14.4 by 7.7mms.
Estimated total diamond weight 1.75cts, G-I colour, VS2-P1 clarity.
Length 3.4cms. 8.1gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks.
Replacement brooch fittings.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
One replacement diamond, discolouration at mount.
Two diamonds chipped/nicked.
Amethyst appears a deep moderately pinkish purple. Central window effect.
Electronically tests as approximately 17-18ct gold (fittings untested).
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
