Lot Description
A Victorian gold rose-cut diamond and sapphire snake bangle, with ruby eyes, gripping a later emerald cabochon within it's mouth.
Inner diameter 5.7cms. 27.4gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks.
General slight wear to gilt finish.
Later safety clasps.
Diamonds appear bright and well matched.
Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.
One diamond chipped.
Sapphires are in closed settings and appear a well matched deep blue. Slight facet-edge abrasions.
Rubies appear a well matched pinky red.
Emerald to mouth presumed later addition, seemingly wedged in the mouth and appears a medium slightly bluish green, few cracks visible.
Approximate width 2.6cms.
Electronically tests to area of slight wear tot he gilt finish as approximately 17ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
