Georgian portrait miniature of a gentleman, by John Smart, within a near-period multi-strand clasp mount.

Portrait signed JS 1776.
Length of clasp 4.2cms. 21gms.
Ivory licence 6LUP51CU

Condition Report

Surface scratches and minor marks.
Portrait miniature is signed JS, 1776.
Under magnification portrait shows general fine crazing.
The mount is presumed a marriage, the reverse is engraved 'Erasmus Saunders D.D., 1750.'
White enamel surround shows few spots of discolouration, one fleabite nibble/nick.
Glass shows few scratches.
