Lot Description
An early 20th century 15ct gold peridot, seed and split pearl necklace, with similarly-set detachable drop.
Drop may be worn as a brooch.
Oval-shape peridot calculated weight 2.60cts, based on estimated dimensions of 9.8 by 7.7 by 4.9mms.
Drop stamped 15ct.
Length of necklace 40cms. Length of detachable drop 3.1cms. 15.6gms.

Condition Report
Surface scratches and minor marks.
General moderate wear to the gilt finish.
Later safety chain to the brooch/drop.
Seed pearls untested for natural origin.
Split pearls appear well matched with a light cream hue, few with slight discolouration.
Two split pearls deficient.
Peridot appear a fairly well matched moderately yellowish green, varied window effect. Minor abrasions.
Electronically tests to chain as approximately 15ct gold.
Fellows uses a Thermo Scientific Nitron Handheld XRF Analyser to test metals. This technology is limited to examining metal to a depth of approximately 8 microns.
