Lot Description

A Georgian gold glazed hairwork garnet ring, with later band, engraved to the back of the ring head 'When this you see, Remember Me'.

Band stamped 18ct.
Ring size N. 3.4gms.

Scratches and minor marks. General wear.
Late Victorian/early 20th century replacement band and back of gallery.
Glass contains hairwork foliate motif on cloth, cloth shows discolouration.
Garnets appear light reddish purple through deep purplish red.
Varied abrasion, one garnet chipped.
One garnet deficient.
Length of ring head 1.5cms.
