Lot Description

A silver barrel form jar by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd and signed Cyril Shiner, the reeded detail leading to a scalloped rim, lid with conforming knop, hallmarked London 1938. Height measures 6 1/5 inches (16.5cm), weight 19.9ozt (619 grams).

The presentation barrel is in good overall condition, there are general scratches, marks and tarnishing. A few spots of discolouration to the interior. Also signed to the underside Cyril Shiner. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The full inscription reads ' Tynedale Point to Point, April 15th 1939. Hunt Members Race. Won by Mr. Eustace Renwick's Rockman II. - J. Eustace Smith. '.
