Lot Description

Victorian silver presentation goblet of classic form with engraved foliate detail and beaded rims. Hallmarked Robert Harper London 1872. Height measures 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm), weight 7.2 ozt (225 grams).


Engraving reads 'Presented By Mr & Mrs Tornberg for Competition amongst The Ladies Racecourse Bowling Club 1932'.

Overall the goblet is in good condition in keeping with the age and use, there are general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The interior perhaps once gilded is now worn and discoloured. The base is slightly unsteady and does not sit flat. Goblet itself is slightly bent where the body meets the stem. Engraving is clear and legible. The hallmarks are clear and legible.
