Lot Description

A silver George IV pair case pocket watch, open case front showing a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, bordered by a minute track, case hallmarked Birmingham 1828, movement with engraved and pierced balance cock, with silver Albert chain, key and compass fob. Case diameter 55mm.

The outer case is fairly clean with surface marks and the release button is missing, there are some watch repair papers in the case back, the inner case has light pitting, and a light dent to the centre, the dial has a few surface marks and debris, the gilt hands have surface marks and aren't matching in style, the movement has tarnishing and scratches to the plates, and the screws have signs of wear, the movement will run for short periods. The compass attached to the Albert has fogging to the glass and rusting to the hand.
