Condition Report
The George II waiter sits flat on the surface, however the feet do not, just the tips contact the table, and the detailing to the feet is rubbed. The waiter is showing a fair amount of wear due to its age. The border is rubbed due to polishing and is lacking detail. There are noticeable repairs to the border in particular two solder joins which are poorly done, and the join between the border and central panel is crude, this is seen to the top and base of the piece and adds to loss of definition to the shell detailing. Part of the rim is slightly bent downwards. The middle of the central panel dips inwards slightly and must have thinned in the centre as there is a support panel to the base, this is possibly due to the polishing out of an engraving. The rest of the central panel just has surface wear and tear scratches and the decoration is still showing good detail, this does however show rubbing to the edges of the very middle. The hallmark is very rubbed but just legible, the makers mark is part illegible.
