The ewer is in a good condition for its age, the lever action lid is in good working order, the handle moves very slightly. There is some tarnishing to the silver and gathered polish to the detailing. The main body solder join is visible in the non detailed parts below the handle. The embossed detail is slightly rubbed due to polishing, but still very detailed. On the vacant cartouche there are some slight dints to the silver were there may have been an engraving removed, however the silver has not noticeably thinned. To the base is stamped 6193, and the rim of the base is stamped OLLIVANT & BOTSFORD    MANCHESTER. The gilt interior is still yellow and bright. The hallmark is clear on the main body of the ewer but less legible on the handle.
