Lot Description

Victorian silver toast rack, the six dividers of trefoil form, raised above a rectangular beaded base and open work bracket feet. Hallmarked Josiah Williams & Co Exeter 1877. Length measuring 7 inches (17.5 cm), weight 8.8 ozt (274 grams).

The toast rack displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The joins between the dividers and the base, also the join of the base have become visible. Repairs and distortion with loss of detail to the loop handle. Supporting pieces have been added to the base of the feet. The hallmarks are a little rubbed, but clearly legible.
