Lot Description

Channel Islands nineteenth century Old English tablespoon made by Jacques Quesnel I, with Hanoverian style drop and initial engraving. Together with a similar example also possible attributed to Jacques Quesnel I, and further example with wide extended drop and the makers mark PGR below a crown. (3).

Much of the wear the three table spoons display is commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. There is some variance in the condition of the three spoons. The example made by Jacques Quesnel I is in poor condition with denting, distortion and thinning of the bowl, personal initial engraving and heel decoration is also rubbed. The second example by also by Jacques Quesnel I also showing wear to the bowl and heel decoration. The marks are clear and legible.
