Condition Report
The Channel Islands Christening cup displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks, tarnishing, some pitting and small shallow dints. The makers mark, part rubbed/miss-struck (?), as the additional images displays. Referencing page 145 of Silver in the Channel Islands by Frederick Cohen and Nicholas Du Quesne Bird published by the Jersey Museum Service, the mark of LP with the same surround is unknown, circa 1720, but possibly thought to be the mark of Louis Poignand, or a later mark of the LP known circa 1710.
